The Teachings, Part I: A Firm Foundation

By John Fuhler

According to the Cayce readings, about 13,000 years ago, several souls later associated with the early A.R.E. (Edgar Cayce [294], his son Hugh Lynn Cayce [341], and stockbroker Morton Blumenthal [900]) convened in Egypt in order to collect key teachings whereby they might give the people a better understanding of the mystical forces and the relationship with others and the Divine.

None are being drawn into that purpose of the establishing of this more close relation of God’s truth in earth…other than those that first established same in that land now known as Egypt…to give to the peoples the better understanding of the mystic or mysterious forces… (254-42)

egypt-pyramidsTemples including the Temple of Sacrifice, which was like a hospital, and the Temple Beautiful, which was like a university, were built for the purpose of recording and sharing the material. Among the tools chosen to convey these teachings, [900] brought the “mysticism of numbers…the relationship of the stars, (and)…the characters as became the symbols of the land.” (254-42) The Great Pyramid was designed and built based on the position of the stars (294-151). It was to be a prophecy and timeline of all coming changes in religious thought in the world; signified by the layer, color, and direction of movement within the pyramid. (5748-5)

The material was called the “Law of One” and included an understanding of universal laws and the Oneness of God. The tenets and truths were so important that they dispatched emissaries around the globe to share it.

Before that…the entity was in the Egyptian land when there were preparations of individuals for activities in others’ lands…among those who were prepared in the Temple Beautiful for those activities in what is now Yucatan. There the entity may find much which would appear as a part of its own experience, just as it may among the people in the southern portion of this land, or the Indians who hold to the symbols of the ancients. (3384-3)
The entity was among those that came to…Yucatan…many (people) of those lands now known as the Egyptian – then of Mu and Ra – came to pass the messages for the building of the activities and those things that made for the preservation of the thoughts and teaching of those people in that land. (3823-1)

water lillySeveral elements of these teachings survive in the Egyptian and Mayan symbols and mythologies. Examples include the pyramid, Orion, and water lilies; each has its own, similar esoteric meaning. In both cultures, the pyramid represented the Northern Celestial Hemisphere at the moment of Creation. Peter Tompkins, author of the book Secrets of the Great Pyramids, wrote that the pyramid’s apex represents the Celestial North Pole. In the book The Pyramids of Egypt, I.E.S. Edwards found a direct correlation between the step pyramid and the stellar religion. In a similar fashion, anthropologist Walter Krickeberg demonstrated that in the Yucatan and in Central America the stepped pyramid represented the daytime sky as a metaphor of the Upper World. For these Indians, the sky represented an enormous blueprint of everything that ever had, does, or would happen, and therefore is a schematic record of their history and prophecies. This is very similar to the information about the Great Pyramid from the Cayce readings:

This, then, receives all the records from the beginnings of that given by the Priest…to that period when there is to be the change in the earth’s position and the return of the Great Initiate to that and other lands for the folding up of those prophecies… (5748-5)

starsThe constellation Orion figures prominently in the Egyptian and Maya beliefs as well. The association of Orion with Creation is paramount. The Round Zodiac of Dendera combines the Greco-Babylonian “Thema Mundi” or natal horoscope of the world, similar to the Egyptian version of the same. A schematic map of the Northern Celestial Hemisphere, it symbolically represents a pyramid with its apex at the Celestial North Pole. On this composition the sculptors placed Osiris/Orion at the Vernal Equinox at the time of Creation.

In the Egyptian mythology, the god Seth killed his brother Osiris, a primeval king of Egypt, and floated a sarcophagus with his remains north along the Nile River. The sarcophagus transformed into a tree (extending to the Celestial North Pole). Isis, the wife of Osiris, must recover his body and magically resurrect it sufficiently to beget a son, Horus. The embodiment of Osiris’ living spirit, Horus is born from the blue water lily (Nymphaea caerulea).

In Maya mythology, the Underworld gods slew First Father just prior to the Creation of this World Age. His twin sons raised him up in resurrection. Out of a water lily by way of the cleft turtle carapace, represented by a portion of Orion, emerged the Maize God, one with the Tree of Life. The turtle floated upon the primordial sea, symbolized by the white water lily (Nymphaea ampla). All these symbols, the Tree of Life, Orion, water lilies, and the pyramid, represent Creation, death, and resurrection.

The mythological cycles surrounding these symbols informed generations of individuals for millennia in two of the world’s greatest civilizations. The universal truths contained in those myths incorporate abundant symbols that any generation might understand, encoded in the languages of numbers, geometry, and astronomy.

Although these symbols represent only a small fraction of the information still available, the numbers are among the most important. As with the symbolic messages sent by NASA into space in order to communicate with alien civilizations, these great souls sent encoded messages in order to communicate to subsequent generations the truths that they intended to impart.
