Nonprofit Financial Statements and 990

Edgar Cayce's Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. (A.R.E.) is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation funded primarily by the generosity of our members. We strive to use our funds as efficiently as possible, illustrated by the fact that 86.5% of our operating expenses went directly to program services while 6.3% went to support services and 7.2% to fundraising.

The year included a number of very positive changes that will continue to impact the growth and health of the Cayce organizations in the years ahead, including the renovation of the original Edgar Cayce hospital that now features a renovated Spa and Health Center and healthy food options in our Cayce/Miller Café!

In terms of how members have helped the organization financially, the 2014 results include:

  • Approximately 4,000 members donate to us each year
  • 500 Golden Circle members donate $1,000 or more each year
  • Over 400 people are in our Good Karma Club (donating $20 or more each month)
  • More than 350 people have included us in their wills and estate plans, becoming members of the Edgar Cayce Legacy Society
