A.R.E. Camp in Rural Retreat, Va. offers fun, relaxation, inspiration, spiritual community, and joyful learning. This peaceful atmosphere, with sessions for individuals of all ages as well as families, is a place of transformation in body, mind, and spirit. The camp, located in a beautiful valley between two mountain ridges, is surrounded by gorgeous wilderness. The ideal of A.R.E. Camp is to provide an environment where the holistic Cayce concepts can be explored in practical ways, where a simple lifestyle can celebrate our spiritual heritage, and where individuals can practice love and service with joy.

In the early morning hours of June 5, the A.R.E. Camp Dining Hall became engulfed in flames before burning completely to the ground. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire. However, this comes as devastating news to the A.R.E. community and campers who were preparing for another year of tradition and summer fun in Rural Retreat, Va. Despite this momentous setback, the A.R.E. activities will go on as planned, and the A.R.E. is deploying the best creative resources to ensure campers experience the same magic, fun, and memories. For more information about how you can help, by volunteering or donating, please visit EdgarCayce.org/summercamp and click the “Help Rebuild Camp Dining Hall” button. For updates on camp reconstruction and fundraising efforts, please visit Facebook.com/arecamp.retreat. This special episode includes a presentation by Patrick Belisle, the director of A.R.E.'s Office of Development, just days after the fire. He is actively involved with the camp teaching meditation and dream work to young people at A.R.E. Camp for 15 years. Following that update, the show will feature an interview with the current Camp Manager, Malenka Kaydan with more on how the camp is preparing for the upcoming programs and events.
