Edgar Cayce Energy
by Peggy Sue Skipper

A.R.E. HoustonIn November 2009, I moved my office into the Edgar Cayce A.R.E. Center in Houston, TX. It was one of those serendipity situations because just at the point where I realized I had to move, a friend called and told me the A.R.E. had an office for lease. I hung up the phone and drove over right then and wrote a check before I left that day.

Only later did I find out there were seldom offices available at the A.R.E. and a number of people were interested but had not yet made the financial commitment. I had been in the center a few times over the years and always had a respect for Edgar Cayce’s work but I was not actively involved with A.R.E. I just knew the energy was much better than where I had been and that was my primary criteria for a new office.

I spend a lot of time in my office when I am in town, and what a difference it has made to be in an environment where I can just be myself. Over the past months, it has become more and more clear just how important my energetic environment is for my spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well being. As I have said many times since moving in, “People here just get me—for the first time in my life I do not feel like I have to watch what I say.”

Our world is still so divided on the subject of spirituality and all that it encompasses, and it can be dangerous territory. I had lived for so long turning what I believe off-and-on depending on my surroundings that it became second nature—at least I thought it had. I just thought I had that mastered. What I didn’t take into consideration is what that flip-flopping was doing to me.

Recently I did a presentation at another center in Houston and one of the promoters of the event e-mailed me several days later to say she felt my intuition had taken a giant leap, and she is correct. I attribute that directly to my new environment at the A.R.E. In addition to just being in great energy every day, I have, for the last several months, been participating in one of the Edgar Cayce study groups here at the center and I so look forward every week to putting in two hours with that group. The material we study, in A Search for God, confirms my own beliefs, and what a treat it is to openly discuss them in a safe environment.

Recently I discovered that the United Nations has declared September 21 each year as International Day of Peace, a concept I can get behind. I mentioned it to Carl and Ed who run the Houston A.R.E. and next thing I know the center is sponsoring a free meditation from 7-8pm that evening. Shortly after that decision was made, Jim Commander was in my office and I told him about it and he agreed to play live for the event! Jim’s CD Edgar Cayce Sounds of Meditation is one of my favorites but I have never heard him play live, so I am looking forward to it. If you are in the Houston area, or know someone who is , and would like to join us, please come on out! If you read this article after the fact, then mark your calendar for September 21, 2011! We will be here.

“These are the days when the paths must be made straight, that indeed there may be peace on earth, good will to men.” Edgar Cayce Reading 1468-1
