Jason Parker, PhD, MHt, a former research fellow at Johns Hopkins
School of Medicine, has worked in the field of
education for over 30 years. He taught psychology
at Virginia Tech and is currently serving
as a senior lecturer
of psychology for Old Dominion University, where he was the recipient of the 2014-2015 O.D.U. College of Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award. A master hypnotherapist
for over 20 years, Dr. Parker helped found the
hypnotherapy services offered through the
A.R.E. Health Center & Spa, where he was a
staff therapist for over ten years.
A popular speaker and teacher at A.R.E., he is known for his lively, interactive
presentations and depth of knowledge as well as his sense of humor.
He has trained in hypnosis, releasement, and regression techniques with
Dr. Helen Crawford, Dr. William Baldwin, Dr. Allen Chips, and others,
and studied hypnosis and the treatment of pain at Virginia Tech. A 20-year
member of the National Guild of Hypnotists and instructor for A.R.E.’s
"Foundations in Hypnosis" certification course, he is currently the executive
director of Bayside Behavioral Center.
