Adhering to the philosophy of the Edgar Cayce readings, A.R.E. eGroups were developed to bring the wisdom of A.R.E. lecturers, mentors, and teachers into your home. eGroups take place in online classrooms called “workspaces”. Each workspace contains exercises, readings, audios, and/or videos. (see Technical Requirements). Group discussions and communication with the mentor also take place in the workspace.

Technical Requirements

You will need a working email address and a computer or tablet with an internet connection. You should have a basic understanding of the internet, email, and audio and video files.
eGroups contain PDF files:
Some browsers have a built-in PDF reader. For others, it will be necessary to download the PDF file and open it with a PDF reader. To learn more and download a free copy of Adobe Reader, visit http://get.adobe.com/reader.
eGroups contain audio files:
Your computer should have speakers so that you can listen to the audio files. You will need the ability to play MP3 audio files. This will vary based on your operating system and browser. You can download a free version of Windows Media Player here.

NOTE: For Macintosh and other browsers: If you experience problems with the WMA audio files, please use the MP3 files or you can download Windows Media Player for Mac.

eGroups contain video files:
You may need the ability to play Flash files. To learn more about your player, please visit http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. To download Flash, visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.

Dial-up is NOT recommended because eGroups have audio and video files.

eGroup Frequently Asked Questions ~ F.A.Q's

  1. Do I need a computer in order to participate in an eGroup?

    All eGroups require access to a computer or tablet with an internet connection.

  2. How do I register?

    Use this form to register online. Astrology eGroup participants should use this form, which includes space for birth date, time, and location information.

  3. What kinds of eGroups are offered?

    The current eGroup schedule is available online. Click the group you want to join in order to find out more information about the content, duration, and cost.

  4. Where are eGroups held?

    eGroups are held online in workspaces hosted by PBWorks. There is not a physical location.

  5. Are there specific times I need to be online in order to participate?

    No. eGroups are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access.

  6. Are there assignments that have to be turned in?

    There are no graded assignments but the mentor will suggest exercises, readings, audios, and videos that will further your learning. Sometimes the mentor will ask questions that can be answered by posting in the designated discussion areas.

  7. Do I have to post in the discussion areas?

    The group mentor and participants use the discussion areas to share ideas and experiences. You can also ask the mentor questions in the discussion areas. However, there is no requirement for individual participants to post in the discussion areas.

  8. Can I save and download the material to my computer to view and listen to later?

    You can always save the files from the eGroup for personal use. Some of the MP3 files can be saved and transferred to a portable device. Please note that saving material (text, audio, and videos) depends on your computer’s operating system and programs.

  9. How long is this material available?

    Most eGroups are four to six weeks in length. The material is available during the advertised course dates and then for approximately two additional weeks. We recommend that you save any materials during the eGroup session or immediately afterwards.
