“American Lama” Lama Surya Das to Bring Mindfulness to the Masses

mindfulnessVirginia Beach, Va. – Mindfulness, the practice of moment-to-moment awareness, is the ability to purposefully pay attention to everyday activities and interactions. It is a way of looking deeply into oneself in the spirit of self-inquiry, self-understanding, and enlightenment. Mindfulness is taught in universities, businesses, and medical centers, and is reflected in Edgar Cayce’s readings on ideals and mastery of self. The Mindfulness: Being in the Present Moment: A Training Course in Self Awareness, Clarity, and Inner Peace program, facilitated by Lama Surya Das, Swami Priyaananda, Gregg Unterberger MEd, Dawn Hogue, and James Van Auken, is an experiential and highly interactive program hosted at Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. in Virginia Beach, February 15-17, 2013. Participants will learn a variety of effective techniques—practical methods, meditations, exercises, gentle yoga positions, and other activities to apply to daily living.
