Acupressure provides a bridge between ancient and modern Asian theories using gentle, direct finger pressure on acupuncture points. Acupressure has been shown to release stress and tension, reduce pain and discomfort, increase self-awareness, and re-establish the balance of energy between mind and body.
Our signature massage can be both stimulating and relaxing. It affects nerves, organs, glands, circulation, and muscles, and helps the body rid itself of toxins. Cayce/Reilly massage blends Swedish, osteopathic, and neuropathic massage techniques. For deeper relaxation, call to request hydrocollator heat packs or violet ray application - available at no additional charge.
CranioSacral Therapy treats the body system consisting of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, creating what is basically a hydraulic suspension system for the heart of your central nervous system. Clients lie fully clothed on the massage table, while the therapist lightly palpates the head, neck, sacrum, arms, and legs - affecting the craniosacral pulse throughout the body. This often results in motion, a release of emotional memories, and increased sense of well being.
Foot Reflexology is the study and practice of gently pressing reflex points on the feet with specific hand and finger techniques, to relax corresponding parts of the body. Our bodies, with over 27,000 nerve endings on the bottoms of our feet, can be powerfully affected by a thorough session of reflexology.
Manual Lymph Drainage
Very light strokes are used to move the skin, bringing about a gentle pumping action in the tissue which promotes the flow of the lymph fluid, a vital component of a healthy immune system. One of the more subtle but powerful of the touch therapies, the benefits of Manual Lymph Drainage include reducing muscle tension, relief from pain, removing toxins from tissue, improving muscle and skin tone, decreasing recovery time from injury, minimizing scarring due to surgery and burns, and releasing stress.
Myofascial Release: (deep tissue bodywork) Fascia is a seamless web of connective tissue that covers and connects the muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Myofascial Release refers to the manual massage techniques for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia and integument, muscles and bones, toward eliminating pain, increasing range of motion, and balancing the body. Injuries, stress, inflammation, trauma, and poor posture can cause restriction to fascia. Myofascial Release works to release fascia restriction, allowing the connective tissue fibers to reorganize themselves in a more flexible, functional fashion and to restore the tissue health. For the most effective session, we recommend wearing or bringing gym shorts, and for ladies, a sports bra also.
Neuromuscular Massage: (deep tissue bodywork) Neuromuscular therapy utilizes static pressure on specific trigger points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates the soft tissue of the body to balance the central nervous system. Injury, trauma, postural distortion or stress causes nerves to speed up their transmission, inhibiting equilibrium and making the body vulnerable to pain and dysfunction. Neuromuscular work can help stabilize these low levels of neurological activity to maintain normal function and overall health.
