Saturday, Dec 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon: VB IANDS Presents: Terri Daniel Birth, Death and Beyond...a new story: Where did we get the idea that people turn into angels when they die? Where did the idea of divine punishment come from? Is pain and suffering randomly dispersed, or worse, a punishment handed down by a man in the sky, or is it a precious gift from our higher selves, and our guides to impart important growth lessons that we ourselves have chosen? Traditional religion teaches us that there is a supreme being with a master plan and that we have very little to say about it. By contrast, self-empowered spirituality says that we are the ones who designed the plan, and we know exactly what we are here for and how to create situations to bring forth the very experiences we need at any given moment. Terri Daniel is the founder of the Afterlife Education Foundation, which produces the annual Afterlife Awareness Conference, now it its fourth year. For more information, visit DanielDirect.net. Suggested donation for the morning program is $5. For more information, contact: Elena Viada at (757) 470-3697 or at firstname.lastname@example.org (*Non-A.R.E. Sponsored Event)
Saturday, Dec 14 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.: VB IANDS Workshop: The Evolution of Forgiveness We know we are supposed to forgive, but have we ever been given any actual techniques for doing so? Most people believe that forgiveness means condoning or accepting transgressions that have been committed against us by others. Based on the understanding that we create our earthly experiences according to the lessons sought by our souls, this workshop explores the energies of judgment, fear, projection and attachment that cause us to experience spiritual pain and the illusion that we are separate from the Divine. Using guided visualizations, interactive exercises, storytelling and ritual, we will work on connecting with higher guidance to assist us in "un-judging" ourselves and others. By releasing the concept of blame and healing the emotional wounds and fear-based beliefs that we carry from one lifetime to the next, a new form of forgiveness can emerge in which there are no victims and no perpetrators... only souls journeying together on a path to wisdom and awareness. No reservations needed, just come! Admission to the afternoon program is $20. For more information, contact: Elena Viada at (757) 470-3697 or at email@example.com (*Non-A.R.E. Sponsored Event)
Saturday, Dec 14 from 5:30–7 p.m.: Open House Fine art photographer Kelly Dunn will join A.R.E. for an unveiling of his nature photography overlaid with inspirational quotes from the readings of Edgar Cayce on a mural in the organization’s main auditorium. Attendees will be able to meet the artist while drinks and refreshments are served. This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the A.R.E. Bookstore & Gift Shop. Kelly Dunn captures the very essence of life with his lens. With an innate, almost mystical, ability to seize that precise moment when nature bursts forth, Dunn exhibits sheer magic in his prints. This mystical element combines perfectly with the spiritual inspiration found in the Cayce readings. Sample quotes include: “Remember the beautiful ever, and look for the agreements rather than for disagreements…” (1535-2) and “Smile oft. Speak gently. Be kind...” (262-109) To view Dunn’s amazing, gallery-quality images, and to download a set of images with Cayce quotes, visit his website at KellyDunn.com/Cayce.html. His work can also be viewed at Facebook.com/edgarcayce.
