What Is the New Year’s Youth Conference?
Held during A.R.E.'s annual New Year’s Conference, the Youth Conference has been
uniquely designed to appeal to young people ages 13 to 17.
The New Year’s Youth Conference offers the opportunity to explore and experience:
- Dream groups
- Games, arts and crafts
- Meditation (Midnight Meditation on New Year’s Eve on the beach!)
- Nature walks on the beach and in First Landing State Park (weather permitting)
- Youth and A.R.E. Camp Potluck Dinner
In addition, Youth Conference attendees will participate in some of the adult
conference workshops and will also get to visit and work more closely with conference
key note speakers and popular A.R.E. staff and volunteers.
Service is part of any A.R.E. youth conference so campers will work with local
charities, including a visit with seniors and host a New Year’s Eve breakfast to help
with youth scholarships.
And, don't forget a favorite yearly tradition: the New Year’s Eve Party and midnight
meditation. All will join together to eat, drink (nonalcoholic, of course!), and dance the
night away!
