Massage Schools Philosophy and Mission

The Massage School is located on the beautiful A.R.E. campus in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The campus is located on 67th Street, directly across Atlantic Avenue from the Atlantic Ocean, and is composed of the original Cayce Hospital building, the Visitors Center, the Wynne building, and the carriage house. Also on campus is a beautiful meditation garden, complete with waterfall, trees, and plants, and an air of peace and tranquility. There is also free parking for students. Our mission is to offer a quality, comprehensive education in both the art and science of massage therapy based on the holistic principles of the Edgar Cayce readings and in the spirit of Dr. Harold J. Reilly.

The school supports A.R.E.'s mission to change lives for the better through the concepts in the Cayce readings.

The Cayce/Reilly Massage School excels at offering students of all ages a holistic learning environment in the growing field of massage therapy. The school's unique curriculum provides students with the leading-edge technical information and knowledge they must have in order to become professional massage therapists, while drawing upon the wealth of insights on holism, healing, and personal transformation contained in the Edgar Cayce material.

In addition to coursework offered by more traditional educational programs, the unique aspects of the Cayce/Reilly School include the Cayce/Reilly Massage, a particular style of Swedish massage developed by Dr. Harold J. Reilly from information suggested in the Edgar Cayce readings. Students are also provided with opportunities for their own personal transformation, cultivating the age-old understanding that the only way to truly heal is to be healed.

It is our belief that students who attend our school leave with more than technical knowledge of massage therapy. Although technique and the sciences are extremely important in the training of massage therapists, we expect our graduates to gain more than technical knowledge. Our students are encouraged to explore their own inner processes through working with dreams and meditation. The concepts of body/ mind/spirit and holism are woven throughout the curriculum.

Massage School IntroThe Cayce/Reilly School also offers very sound instruction in massage technique and the sciences. All students are given instruction in anatomy and physiology, as well as advanced massage modalities. Business development and ethics, two other technical aspects to massage therapy training, are also an integral part of our curriculum. The knowledge gained from these courses, along with the inner work the students are offered, produces an exceptionally well-trained, well- rounded, and successful massage therapist. Our students frequently comment that the education they received far exceeded their expectations.

The staff and faculty of the Cayce/Reilly School are dedicated to providing a holistic educational environment of the highest standards, preparing students for a rewarding career in massage therapy. We view massage as a valuable and positive force that promotes health and supports personal growth, professional fulfillment, and spiritual awareness in the world. As we continually strive to offer students from every background and life experience the best educational program possible, the Cayce/Reilly School joins the A.R.E. in its mission to help people change their lives for the better through the ideas in the Edgar Cayce readings.
