Dreams that deal with past lives

Dear A.R.E.:I believe in past lives and in reincarnation. Usually my dreams are just weird and I never put much thought into them. I have dreams that can make me sad or happy when I wake up. But last night I had a dream that was horrific. It was the most graphic and intense dream I've ever had. It was so violent and so innocent at the same time. When I woke up, I knew I had cried in my sleep and I started crying again. This dream was like it happened-in my past. I strongly believe that it was from a past life. I've never been so shaken up, had this heavy sick feeling, or cried this much over a dream. I feel just awful, so emotionally drained. I can't even talk about with anyone; it's too emotional and heartbreaking. Why would this dream happen now? And are there any ways to help "verify" this past life experience or help me to put more of the pieces together?

Most often past-life dreams occur because the subconscious mind of the dreamer is trying to bring to the dreamer's awareness the fact that an experience from the past (e.g. an activity, a relationship, a similar pattern, etc.) is about to repeat itself in the present. In a sense, this is simply to enable the dreamer to be forewarned. That said, however, sometimes the symbolism of the dream and/or the emotional content can be much more dramatic in the dream (or from the past) than will be experienced in the present. For example, let's imagine that an individual who shot you in the past has shown up in the present as your boss. Although you might dream about the actual events from the past after meeting your new boss, the dream could be symbolic of the fact that the individual is going to "get rid of you" (e.g. fire you or have you transferred) in the present. Essentially, past-life dreams occur to prepare an individual for some type of experience in the present (positive or negative) that is karmically connected to the past. –

Dear A.R.E.: I've had numerous dreams I consider to be past-life in nature, and it leads me to one question. Is everyone reincarnated, or only those who died an early and unsuspected (and sometimes unusually violent) death? My next question pertains to a dream I had in which I was a man. I have these every so often, and in them I am always physically assaulting a girl in her early to mid-teens. Why would a rapist or even a killer be reincarnated? Is it a learning experience? I truly feel that in many of my past lives I was a rather violent fellow. Do you have any insights?

The quick answer is that everyone is reincarnated until they reach a stage of perfection that Edgar Cayce essentially described as "the awareness within each soul of the soul's oneness with God." For additional information on our purpose in the earth and the means through which we reach that awareness, I would recommend reading the "Philosophy" chapter of There is a River, by Thomas Sugrue (Edgar Cayce's biographer), or reading the book Edgar Cayce on Soul Growth, by Kevin J. Todeschi. To answer the rest of your question, it is not that a person is allowed to incarnate in order to continue to exhibit the same behavior, instead through a series of lessons and experiences that soul will eventually have that behavior eradicated from the self - perhaps through being a victim of a violent crime him or herself, or perhaps through learning how to help and assist those who have been victims of crimes. In terms of why you might have aggressive feelings, it suggests that you have unresolved issues of anger or resentment toward others or toward yourself that you have yet to deal with. If these thoughts are often a part of your consciousness, you really need to see a counselor that can help you work through the anger without physically expressing that anger. Good luck to you.–

Dear A.R.E.: I hope you can help with this dream. Usually I can pretty much figure my dreams out but this one has be baffled. I have submitted this to other dream sites with no help. I was walking down the street when all of a sudden there was a large crowd of people. I was aggravated because all of them were in my way. Then I saw them putting a coffin into a hearse and I felt really guilty (for getting aggravated). Then I could see the crowd for what it was - a very large funeral procession, almost parade style. The funeral was for two Irish policemen. I felt so sad I started to cry. I was in the way of them putting the second casket in the second hearse and I clumsily said, "I'm sorry." A blonde woman said something snotty too me but I understood (her snootiness). Then a blonde came up smiling and put his arm around me and told me it was okay, not to cry. His kindness made me cry harder, so we walked together in the procession and he held me while I cried for two Irish cops I didn't even know. (I didn't know any of these people, in the dream or in real life.)

I believe the dream is past life in nature and is occurring in the present because the scene is similar to a process that is going on in your present life. In other words, Edgar Cayce suggested that we dream about past lives because the subconscious mind looks for a period in the soul's history in which the soul encountered similar experiences to what is going on in the person's life in the present. With this in mind, the dream suggests that you are now having to come to terms with dealing with and expressing your emotions and feelings. In the past you may have come across somewhat cold and aloof but life's events have caused you to be more open. But as the dream suggests, it is okay. –

Dear A.R.E.: I am 15 years old and I have been having the same exact dream since I was 5. It is so vivid sometimes it scares me when I wake-up, then other times its sort of cloudy and I have trouble seeing everything. The dream starts out with my mother and I walking down the street. I think it's sometime during the Victorian era. Then my mom turns into a shop and starts to look at different things. Something catches my eye and I go over to look at it. I turn around to show my mom but she's gone. As I look through the store trying to find her I see the old shopkeeper and ask him if he has seen my mom, then I turn around and walk out into darkness. This is when I wake-up. I just want to know why I've been having this dream since I was 5.

In other examples in the archives, you can read how past-life dreams are generally connected to experiences and situations individuals are having in the present. The subconscious mind simply looks for a past-life experience to bring to mind an awareness that is similar to what the dreamer is going through in waking life. With this in mind, I think the dream suggests you were once abandoned (either purposefully or because of life's events) and that whenever you feel a sense of abandonment or personal insecurity in the present, this past-life experience is brought to mind. If this is the case, then the dream may be trying to show you that your emotional feelings are more than the situation calls for because of this past-life experience that is a part of your soul's memory. If you want to read more about how these memories work, let me recommend the book Children's Past Lives, by Carol Bowman.

Dear A.R.E.:  This dream happened right after I had moved to Saudi Arabia to teach. While there I met a woman and fellow new teacher named Bernadette. We discovered our grandmothers had come from the same area of Ireland. One day we traveled to a small town in Saudi Arabia. There in a market we both saw an antique Arabic baby cradle. Later that afternoon I took a nap and had this dream. In the dream I am pulling a box with a crudely carved face on the lid. The face looked like that of a happy child with holes drilled for a mouth, nose, and eyes. In the box is a little boy who has some type of deformity and is dying. I am in a calm and solemn procession pulling this little boy in his box. I woke up from the dream disturbed. I called my friend Bernadette immediately and described the dream. Bernadette had also had the same dream that afternoon. She too was pulling a box with a craved face of a happy child drilled with holes for a mouth, eyes, and nose and the box contained a little boy with a deformity who was dying. I just am confused and disturbed by this dream and that Bernadette and I shared the same dream. Could you help me with the meaning and connection?

The dream probably has two meanings. In the first place it could be showing you your past-life connection with Bernadette during a time and a place when you worked with a handicapped child – perhaps even in the same area. Alternatively, since you are both teachers, the image could be a metaphor for the fact that your teaching experiences may not end up simply being the positive experiences you had hoped for. I hope that helps. -

Dear A.R.E.:  Last night I dreamed something that I've dreamed several times before. My dream started out normal, talking to friends, doing day-to-day things, when all of the sudden it switched completely. I was in the 1500s or 160s0 and I had a different body and was with people I had never seen before, except in the same type of dreams, yet I knew them. Whenever I have dreams about the past they have an extremely different quality to them that is so vivid that it is unsettling. I had recurring dream a few years ago in which I was a Celtic priestess. In all these types of dreams I have to solve a problem and help people. I wake up before anything is solved. I would never have considered that I had been reincarnated until last night’s dream, which unsettled me because I knew that it had happened. I also frequently experience déjà vu. Also, after reading your archives, it seems that a few people also have dreams about past lives that involve cultures that believe in reincarnation. Is there any likelihood that the Celtic woman I become was, in fact, me in the past? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In all likelihood, you are dreaming about personal past-life experiences but the reason you are having them now is because somehow those past lives and former experiences are connected to people and experiences you are encountering in the present. In other words, we don’t just randomly dream about past lives for no reason. I would recommend finding more out about how reincarnation works. There are many excellent books on the subject that you can find at the Edgar Cayce/A.R.E. Bookstore at this link: www.arebookstore.com. -

Dear A.R.E.:  Once I had a dream where I was a prisoner in medieval times. I don't know why I was in prison but I did get the feeling that I was a witch or gypsy. I was going to be burned alive after another girl. It was terrifying, I saw and heard the screams of the girl being burnt. Before it was my turn I saw myself in the mirror and appeared to be different from what I look like now. I had long brown hair, fair skin and big green eyes. While I was walking towards the stake I attacked and dodged the two guards behind me and was able to get away. I ran off into the forest and there were a couple of guards chasing me. Suddenly, I heard someone call my name and told me to follow him. I did so, and he took me through a path that lead to a small house. He opened the door and there was a woman inside and she said, "Hide here". When I saw the tall elderly man take off the hood of his robe, He reminded me of a wizard type. When I woke up I was in tears but at the same time relieved from not being killed that way. I have had a lot of past-life dreams similar to this dream. Where I am being chased all the time. Is this a fiction that I created or is it a past-life?

Actually, whether or not the dream is a valid past-life dream is not the reason you are having it in the present. The reason you are having the dream is that it somehow corresponds to something going on in your life right now. The Edgar Cayce material suggests that dreams often “contrast and correlate” the events of the day. Therefore, the dream is suggesting that there is something you are dreading or trying to escape from in your waking life and the dream is trying to reassure you that eventually everything will be okay. Alternatively, it could indicate that there is somewhere where you feel as an outcast. In terms of past-life dreams, we don’t dream generally dream about random past-lives. Instead, when we sleep our mind often looks for experiences in the soul’s history to bring to the person’s mind a metaphor or similar experience to something that is occurring with him or her in the present. In other words, we may dream about valid past lives but the reason we dream about them is because they correspond to something similar occurring in our lives right now. All that said the dream you cited does appear to be past life in nature. -

Dear A.R.E.: I am wondering how one can differentiate between a past-life dream, and one that is made up in the subconscious mind? I had a dream recently where I was a man (even though I am female), and I was lying on the carpet of a hotel room, beside the bed. There were two other men in the room, one standing near the door (on guard, I think), and the other was standing at my feet, pointing a gun at me. It looked to be around the 1940's, judging from their clothing and the furnishings in the room. The man with the gun was preparing to shoot me in the head. I had already been shot once, and I was lying there, waiting for him to pull the trigger. Time seemed to stand still, and I remember silently wishing he would just get it over with. Then I saw a flash of white light, and I woke up. Now, the thing is, in my present life I have been having health problems. I had a cancerous tumor in my neck, and was treated for that. Now I am having symptoms at the base of my skull, and am going for another CT scan. The question is, could these symptoms I'm having be a sort of 'recurrence' of what happened to me in a previous lifetime? Or would the dream simply have been my imagination creating it because of the symptoms I am now having? I do know that the dream seemed very real ... I felt all of the emotions of someone who was looking down the barrel of a gun ... and I even had the sense that I knew what was going on. .. it seemed the two men were members of a mob, and I was being 'taken care of' either for debts I hadn't paid, or for something I had done.

Great question! Oftentimes it is not possible to tell the difference between a dream that is only symbolic and one that incorporates a valid past-life memory. One thing to keep in mind is that usually all past-life dreams are somehow connected to an experience the dreamer is having in the present. I would say that your dream is definitely past-life in nature. The fact that you’ve had two health issues related to the areas is especially significant. In addition to following-through on whatever medical recommendations the doctors are pursuing, I would highly recommend that you visit a regression therapist and be regressed to this experience to see if that will also aid in “meeting it” and healing it, Good luck to you,’ -

Dear A.R.E.: I have had dreams about my ex-lover. We broke up recently but in my dreams he is a persistent figure. He is from Norway. In one dream, I was wearing the most beautiful white dress – peasant-like – and he had armor. I had the strangest inkling that it was in the Viking era. We were at sea on this magnificent ship. The sky was the bluest blue. Then in another dream, we were having a custody battle over our child, a girl. In another dream, I just keep hearing his name and the word divorce. In reality, we spoke about marriage and children but we were far from it. I also have dreams about his mother and feel close to her, and dreams about fighting with his stepfather – I have never met either of them. Please help.

In all likelihood the dreams are connected to past-life memories and are trying to demonstrate the variety of feelings you still have about this person and show you where some of these feelings originated. The reason you are having the dreams now suggests that although you have broken up, you still haven’t come to terms with what happened and you may be trying to make sense of it. I would recommend reading some books about past-lives and how this memory can affect us in the present. Books by Carol Bowman and Brian Weiss might be a good place to start. Good luck to you. -

Dear A.R.E.: Over the past two years I have been having a disturbing dream. I dream that my name is Jerome and that I’m married to a younger woman who I very much love but because I have married her I have to change my religion. I remember having to walk from one country to another for a whole month and when I get to my destination I remember killing a man. I remember working in a mine and I think I dig for silver. I also remember making some kind of coin. Please tell me what I should do about this dream.

In all likelihood the dream is a past-life memory. However, individuals generally do not simply recall past lives unless they are somehow connected to something occurring in the present. With this in mind, I think the thematic content of the dream is suggesting that you are about to start a new relationship and/or occupation. In terms of discovering more about how past-life memories work, let me recommend that you consider reading books by Brian Weiss and Carol Bowman. -

Dear A.R.E.: When I was little I dreamed a lot about the Civil War. My dreams started when I was only 9 or 10 years old. It would be the same exact dream. I dreamt that I was a male white soldier and that we were in the war. I had the blue uniform on. In the dream I was on a rock and was right under one of the enemies and was about to kill him. Then suddenly I somehow dropped my gun and made a sound. The enemy looked up at me and I was begging for him not to shoot me but he did and he shot me in my neck. I woke up and I was holding my neck. This dream happened many times when I was little. I am about to turn 18 in July and I still sometimes have those dreams every other month. My friends think that I had a past life. I am thinking the very same thing. Please tell me what you can make of it. Being only 9 or 10 I didn’t even know what the Civil War was nor did I watch any war movies at that age.

Obviously, the dream is a past life dream. However, that said, we generally do not simply dream about past lives without a reason – most often those past-life experiences are connected to present-day issues and problems. In other words, the dream appears to be a “memory pattern” of when things were totally out of your control, or when you looked for mercy and found none, or simply when you made a mistake. With this in mind, whenever you have contemporary experiences like that, you subconscious mind looks for an experience in your soul’s history that can bring the awareness of what is happening to you to mind. So that you can see how others have had similar experiences, let me recommend the book Children’s Past Lives, by Carol Bowman. You might also wish to explore some of the Edgar Cayce material and books on past lives that you can find at this link: www.arebookstore.com. -

Dear A.R.E.: There was a very strong and powerful Indian brave (or warrior). The Indian brave was captured and taken away from his people against his will. He is taken far away through a natural, wooded territory by walking. Finally the Indian brave escapes and gets back to his people. He holds a small child by the shoulder that is crying (because he was gone). And the Indian brave says, “But, I tried to tell you where I was: When the sun was brightest, I...” (He broke off the tip of tall grass as a clue.) “And when the moon was brightest, I…” (He broke off a piece of something that was a small white square as another clue to his whereabouts, trying to let the child know where he was during captivity.) “And when the... “(There was a third clue as to his location while being a captive, but I can't remember). When the brave was finally back, the small child is relieved, but cries again because the child thinks the Indian brave abandoned him.

Oftentimes our dreams draw from past-life memories to bring to consciousness the fact that similar patterns and experiences are occurring in the present. With this in mind, I think that this dream is a remnant of a past-life memory, but the reason your are having it now is that is suggests you are finally getting back to following your true mission in life and your heart’s desire. Apparently you once “abandoned” what was really important to you and are only now finding your way back “home.” -

Dear A.R.E.: For the past few years I have had some recurring dreams about being in wars – mostly Vietnam and World War II. These dreams are so detailed I can still picture some scenes like it were my favorite movie clips. In these dreams I have been shot, struck with grenades and also struck by lightening. It’s very odd because I have been hurt really bad in these dreams but was always able to keep fighting. I was shot in the head once and was still walking around like I was just scratched. In waking like I am usually a very sweet and charming person but in these dreams I’m very hostile and the fight I put up is atrocious. I often have these dreams and I cannot figure out if I’m doing something wrong with my life or what because I cannot see myself fighting in these wars of old. Please if you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

In all likelihood these are dreams of past-life memories that are being triggered by present-day experiences. According to the Edgar Cayce information, the subconscious mind stores memories from the long ago past that can come to the surface in the present as a kind of “memory pattern” – a memory that tries to being some sort of awareness to the dreamer. Although, as you say, you are not an aggressive person in the present, these memories could be prompted by such things as the aggression of others, feeling like you are in situations over which you have no control, being determined to do what you feel is right regardless of what others think, or having suffered some kind of an injury to your spine. In other words, it is the present-day experiences that may be challenging you which are prompting these dreams rather than possible past-life experiences. Let me recommend two books for you to read: Children’s Past Lives, by Carol Bowman, and Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records, by Kevin J. Todeschi. Good luck. -

Dear A.R.E.: My experience is more like a “waking dream” that a literal dream. I read Edgar Cayce on Atlantis by Edgar Evans Cayce. While reading about Bimini and the story about healing waters and the proof that Atlantis was once part of this, I personally had a revelation in the form of a map. I saw great detail, although personally I have never been near Bimini. I saw the healing water, the island, and the gold vein about which Cayce spoke. I have an overwhelming sense of having been there before. As for myself, it should also be noted that for some reason I possess more electrical charge then most people as measured on an oscilloscope.. I affect electronics, interfere with TV reception and make streetlights blink off at times. I have attempted to control this, but to no avail. I have had past life readings with interesting results. I wish I had the financial ability to go to your center, as I feel we could both help each other. Something about the hall of records, Bimini and myself are connected.

Just as can occur in the dream state, sometimes our waking daydream experiences are connected to past-life recall. In all likelihood, you were personally connected to the Bimini of the long ago past. Just for your information, A.R.E. continues to investigate the readings information on Atlantis and Bimini.

Dear A.R.E.: This is about my seven-year-old son who has had disturbing nights for as long as I can remember. Recently, he has be speaking more and acting out situations he couldn’t possibly have any understand. My wife and I really began to get concerned when about one year ago we heard shouting out louder than usual. When we went into his room, he was standing on his bed with his eyes open pointing at nothing and speaking German. I knew it was German because I spend time in Germany and recognized some of what he was saying, it appeared by his excited tone and by the words he was giving orders to people to exit a building. This of course is strange to us because we speak English and live in the USA. Typically he never interacts with us during these episodes and we cannot wake him up. However, three nights ago was a very strange one and what really made me begin looking on the net for answers. I heard very quiet moan along with a one-sided conversation. I walked into my sons room to find him sitting on his bed with his hand over his stomach (occasionally taking his hand away from his stomach and examining the palm) when I asked what was wrong he said with a very southern accent, “Luke just shot me in the guts with my own musket.” I assured he was dreaming and laid him back down. These episodes are ongoing and I will share the more interesting ones as they happen. Any comments or helpful hints you can offer on how to help him at the moment these occur would be greatly appreciated.

The dreams appear to be fragmentary past-life memories that are filtering through your son’s subconscious mind. Let me suggest reading the book, Children’s Past Lives, by Carol Bowman. If these episodes have been more frequent lately, it may suggest that your son experienced some kind of a trauma or perhaps fall that injured his spine and somehow “awoke” him to these memories. If this is the case, you may wish to take him to a chiropractor simply to have a spinal adjustment. (You don’t need to tell the chiropractor about the dreams, simply say you want to make certain your son’s spine is in alignment.) Finally, Edgar Cayce suggested a tool for parents to use called “pre-sleep” suggestion whenever children are having problems with past-life memories. Simply put, the process is to reassure your child just before falling asleep that, “You are okay, this is a safe place, you are with your mommy and daddy, that was then this is now, you have nothing to fear, etc.” Good luck to you. You might also wish to see some of the resources available to parents on A.R.E.’s Web site. -

Dear A.R.E.: Hi, I am a 35-year-old woman. I had a very odd dream the other night. I am sure it was a past life, but it is odd because I never remember my dreams and they are never as vivid as this one. Also, I could remember so much in detail the time and place. In the dream it was like I was watching it from the outside in, like watching T.V. I knew I was dreaming. I’m not sure if I was the child in the dream or just someone watching. The child was of the female gender probably about seven years of age. And she was desperately trying to tell her family that a flood or storm was coming, and that she could hear it coming. No one would listen. The dream took place in Maryland in the year 1936. With remembering that information I went online after awaking and looked up the year in Maryland and sure enough there was flood. I’ve never remembered anything about other dreams like this that was so real. I used to work at a restaurant as a waitress in my early 20’s and would dream the whole restaurant would flood. Would this have anything to do with the 1936 dream? And do you think the 1936 dream was a past life of mine or someone else’s? Thank you! And hope to see my dream selected.

In all likelihood this was a past-life dream, and suggests that you literally experienced the flood of 1936. However, it is important to remember that we do not generally have random past-life dreams – they are almost always connected to a present-life situation. My sense would be that this image of flooding occurs whenever something in your present life is totally out of control – much as the 1936 flood was out of your control. With this in mind, the flood has become a personal symbol for you of things being out of control. -

Dear A.R.E.: This is a recurring dream that I really want to understand. In the dream I see a woman that looks like she may have lived between 1500-1600, because of her style of dress. Bodices and lace and usually the dresses she wears are made of velvet or silk. She strikes me as me, only in a different time frame. She has long hair that is reddish brown in color and I have brown hair with red highlights. Anyway she wears nice dresses and lives in a huge house, by herself, and when I dream of her I can become lucid and live her life, and decide what she wears, and I can even smell her perfume. I feel this is me in another life. How can I learn more about past lives?

First of all, you may wish to explore the dream archives on past lives to see how and why these past life memories manifest in the present. In general, individuals have past life dream experiences because they are experiencing patterns or activities in the present that are similar to what they encountered in the past. In terms of learning more about past lives, you might wish to read the book Children’s Past Lives by Carol Bowman, as well as Edgar Cayce and the Akashic Records by Kevin Todeschi. -

Dear A.R.E.: My dream is a recurring one that happens every few years. It feels like I am maybe in World War II or Vietnam, but I think it is WWII because it feels like I am on the beaches of Normandy during battle. I'm very frightened, usually trying to hide behind something while people are shooting at me. I am not sure that I shoot back; then I think I die. What does this mean?

In all likelihood this is a soul memory of a personal past life. [Please see the dream archives on past lives for more examples as well as for suggested reading.] Whatever experiences an individual has stays with that individual throughout time. However, we don’t normally dream about past lives simply at random. Inevitably, these dreams are connected to something occurring in the dreamer’s present. With that in mind, the dream suggests that part of your life may be out of control or part of you may feel “under attack” and frightened regarding activities at home, at work, or in a relationship. If this is the case, then your soul mind simply looked for an episode in your soul’s history that corresponded “thematically” with what is occurring to you in the present. If you are interested in seeing how this memory works at a soul level, let me recommend the book Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records by Kevin Todeschi. -

Dear A.R.E.:    I am a 32-year-old woman. I have had the same dream repeatedly since I was 4-years-old. The dream is as follows: I'm approximately 25 yrs old and I'm a man, a very large man with a dark beard. I am in the Vietnam War. I am shooting with my best buddy to my side. It’s nighttime in the jungle; we can’t see whom we are shooting at or who’s shooting at us. We just know it’s the enemy. The shooting subsides and I look over to my friend laughing cause he just made a joke. Suddenly, his head is shot off. Blood is everywhere. I begin to scream for help, I pick the radio to call for help and it was damaged in the firefight. I can hear other guys screaming as well in the distance. Just then, I hear the Vietnamese army coming my way. I hide under my buddy’s body in the foxhole, hoping they would keep going, but they don’t. They roll my friend’s body off of mine and shoot me in the head. The dream is so vivid. I can feel the bullet enter and exit my skull. Just then it’s like my spirit raises and I can see my dead body lying there in the jungle. I am flying through a big white light and I enter a baby’s body: ME today. Then I wake up. I remembered my Vietnam buddies name and when I checked some records of him, there was a soldier killed around that time with the same name. What does all this mean? Did I use to be a man?

- It is not unusual to have dreams about past lives. What is somewhat unusual is to have them occur with such regularity and to have them occur without necessarily being connected to events and occurrences in your present experience. I would suggest that the dream is a vivid past-life memory, and that part of your soul-mind has never gotten past the surprising and horrific death. In order to work through this memory, I would recommend seeing a hypnotic regression therapist and have you go back to the experience and address it from your present frame of mind. If you would like to read about other’s experiences along these lines, let me recommend books like: Children’s Past Lives, by Carol Bowman, and The Search for Omm Sety, by Jonathan Cott. Good luck to you. -

Dear A.R.E.:      I have read in the past about reincarnation the fact that some people remember events, places, languages, etc. I feel that I am very connected to my last life, emotionally. I know this person’s fears, the promises he couldn’t keep, etc. I am a girl in this life. I have no proof; I just know that I was in Vietnam…I died in Nam. Part of me still feels like I am in Nam but I don’t know what to do. My mother told me that I used to tell her that I came from that place and that my friends were still there. I was born in 1965. She says that when I was four, instead of watching children shows, I used to change the channel to anything with the war on. The funny thing is I didn’t speak English but I understood the images I was seeing. I have always felt like part of me is still a soldier and I am still fighting again chronic pain in my left arm. Please help me figure out what I’m supposed to do about this.

- It is not uncommon for individuals who suffered a traumatic death or who quickly returned to remember thoughts and ideas regarding a past life; some of the most amazing stories in this regard have been documented in books on reincarnation memory by Dr. Ian Stevenson. The story of Shanti Devi from India and Om Sety from England are other famous cases. Personally, I would recommend Children’s Past Lives How Past-Life Memories Affect Your Child, by Carol Bowman. All that said, I think that a hypnotic regression back to the experience would help you to resolve the memories and feelings. From Cayce’s perspective, there is a reason you are here now in this life. In all likelihood, part of that reason would be to resolve unfinished business and to have the opportunity to explore soul talents and abilities that were cut short. Your life right now is most important but it is also important to try and resolve some of your soul memories so that you can become all that you were meant to be. Good luck to you. -
