| A.R.E. Mentored eGroups:
The concept of eGroups was conceived by John Van Auken as a way for the A.R.E. to provide an online environment where spiritually minded individuals can come together to learn from a mentor and share information and insights on a spiritual topic directly related to the Cayce readings. eGroups are held on what is called in Internet terms a “discussion board.” Discussion boards have become a popular way for people from all over the world to get together to discuss various topics of interest. Using our discussion board is similar to sending e-mail. The biggest difference being that all of the e-mails, called “posts,” are contained on the discussion board, and are viewable by all of the members of the eGroup. eGroups are generally four weeks in duration.
Each week, the mentor, someone well versed in the current eGroup topic, posts a lesson, usually containing written and audio-streamed materials. There are also experiential exercises designed to deepen your understanding of the concepts that have been presented in the lesson. After working with the material and exercises, members of the group are encouraged, but not required, to post questions and comments about their experiences for the mentor and group members to read and respond to. eGroups are perfect for people with busy schedules. There are no specific times you “must” be online to participate. |
