This course will focus on bodywork and taping techniques for athletes. Although the seminar will focus on sports-related conditions, analysis, and treatment, the techniques can be applied to most clients. Tape will be provided for use in the class and to keep for future use with payment of the instructor materials fee. Massage techniques will include pre- and post-event routines that will combine Swedish techniques, neuromuscular techniques, and therapeutic stretching. Medicine and massage are partners in the care of the client. Today’s therapist needs to be familiar with medical conditions, common medical and allopathic methods of treatment and how those treatments affect the massage client. This 3-day course is intended for experienced oncology massage therapists and other professionals whose work focus on, or are regularly touched by, work with the dying. Reiki Level III Master Level: November 16-17

This workshop provides professional certification to massage therapists, childbirth educators, nurse-midwives, and doulas in prenatal massage, labor support massage, and postpartum recovery care. This is the same course offered nationwide. Learn the physiology of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, as well as the skills and bodywork techniques necessary to massage your clients competently from their first trimester, through labor, to postpartum recovery.

In this workshop we focus on perceiving and practicing principles of healthy, natural, enlivening movement in ourselves and in our clients. We explore and apply primary aspects of Trager movement education including: working from a highly receptive state; teaching through touch; inspiring new feeling with creative imagery; staying in playful inquiry, especially when faced with pain, reluctance, or other resistance. Participants will also have ample opportunity to integrate new kinetic perception skills into current work patterns in order to support a lifelong, joyful, and effective bodywork practice.

Neuromuscular therapy is a specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief that will bring about balance between the musculaoskeletal system and the nervous system.  You will learn how to work with people in pain.  If you change your structure, you change your life.  Discover how to look at the body as a whole and how to shift the structure of the body to alleviate pain.  Learn gait analysis and how to make an assessment, as well as work with that to change structure.  There will be a focus on neck and lower back pain, the back itself, the front of the body as it affects the back and trigger point work.  Basic principles of specific injury situations are covered, emphasizing the role of the massage therapist.

In this course, you will be provided with the principles of breathing to restore balance in the body and to enhance the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the whole being. Experience a progressive sequence of self-sensing exercises that can reveal deeply seated and often unconscious feelings, bringing clarity and awareness to your breathing patterns. You will also learn how to modify the breath as a means to manage stress and to induce a deep state of relaxation. The emphasis is on bringing awareness to the subtle energies of the breath using a combination of yoga, conscious breathing, and meditation.

This workshop provides an introduction to the TendinoMuscular Meridians. That the Tendino-Muscular Meridians run through the fascia and nourish the skeletal muscles, they are particularly useful for healing structural problems and injuries and for addressing conditions of stagnant Qi and Blood in the superficial tissues. In Chinese Medicine fibromyalgia and cellulite are conditions of stagnant Qi, which leads to stagnant Blood (poor circulation) and pain. We will explore acupressure and Shiatsu techniques for these conditions that can be incorporated into sessions and also given to clients for self-treatment. Colon Hydrotherapy Theory consists of the study of colonic details, 25 hours of anatomy and physiology and required reading of Edgar Cayce's Guide to Colon Care by Sandra Duggan, RN, BS with an open book test on all three areas. The 3-day In-Depth Introduction to Oncology Massage course is a combination of both hands-on training and lecture. Reiki Level 3 is the level of a Reiki Master where you receive the 3rd degree attunement and become qualified to teach, train, and certify others in Reiki healing. Instruction is given on the Usui/Tibetan system of attunements and three additional healing symbols. Over half the class time is used for practice so the student becomes confident in administering Reiki attunements. Students practice giving attunements on each other so that each student receives many attunements. The Healing attunement is given and received by all students. A class manual is included that gives detailed steps for giving all the attunements. This class is a powerful healing experience and encourages you to become master of your own destiny.

This workshop is designed as an "advanced supervision" for massage therapists and bodyworkers from various practice settings and to fulfill requirements for recertification, both nationally and locally. The class covers such topics as: communication skills, managing boundaries, managing dual relationships and desexualizing a treatment session.
