Prayer and Meditation Services

In 1931, just after the first study group began, Edgar Cayce had a dream that encouraged him to start a Healing Prayer Group to pray for members of the original study group. The dream named seven people to be in the group. That group began and has been meeting each Wednesday ever since. Meditation Part 1 Volume 2 contains the series of readings given by Mr. Cayce and is the text studied in each of the Glad Helpers meetings.

A.R.E.’s Prayer and Meditation Department provides prayer support and meditation services to thousands of individuals each month through our prayer groups, prayer list, and staff-led noontime weekday meditation.

Prayer is so much more than mere words; thoughts, actions, and intentions can all be considered as methods used to live prayerfully. If prayer is talking to God, and meditation is listening to God, then the relationship is able to come full circle. In all meaningful relationships, there are times to speak and times to listen. Engaging both of these tools allows for a direct and personal relationship with the Divine.

If you are interested in starting a Healing Prayer Group, contact us for a copy of the Glad Helpers Handbook and other helpful materials, including a sample video of a meeting of the Healing Prayer Group.
