HOLISTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY
Healing our whole selves, body, mind, and soul, is a lifelong journey with many stages and facets. The journey involves awakening to our own authentic spirituality, defining and living our deep values, and working through the difficulties which challenge us, many of which involve relationships.
Eventually we realize that in order to be happy we must learn and practice the art of creating healthy, loving relationships - with ourselves, with our bodies, with the people in our lives, and with existence as a whole. Holistic psychotherapy is an approach to healing which emphasizes all of these relationships.
In holistic psychotherapy sessions, Dr. Bloom helps her clients to understand and forgive themselves and others while exploring old patterns of relating.
- Inner conflicts and chronic tensions which defeat love are addressed and transformed.
- Traumatic past events resulting in ongoing suffering are identified and gently worked through.
- Relationships between physical symptoms and emotional blocks are explored so that the signals given by the body become accessible and useful in restoring a healthy balance.
- Dreamwork, imagery, and music can be incorporated into the sessions to deepen healing and enhance creativity.
For those clients who want to work with partners or other family members, longer sessions are available in which all issues can be discussed and clarified without blame or scapegoating. Dr. Bloom will assist participants in finding "win-win" solutions to their problems. She emphasizes forgiveness, playfulness, and self-honesty, and teaches skills which are integral to flourishing relationships.
Dr. Bloom believes that with effort, every person and every relationship can experience more delight, strength, comfort, and love.
