The regimen for grape therapy varies depending upon
the condition of the individual. Including quantities grapes and
grape juice in the diet is encouraged. The
grape poultice should be used at least once each week. For acute
conditions, the grape poultice may be used almost continuously until relief
is achieved.
The key points for making the grape poultice are:
As we would find, first there would be the application
of crushed grapes over the abdomen. Preferably these would be the
Concord variety. None
are available at present except the preserved or California grapes.
Hence the next best would be those of the purple variety. Crush them,
place on
gauze and apply on the abdomen. Let remain, then, until apparently
these have almost dried on the body. This would require an hour and
a half to
three hours. (5280-1)
Do apply over the whole abdomen, at least once
a week, crushed grapes. These should be used with the hull and the
seed. The pack should be at
least one inch thick and let this remain on until it has almost
dried out from the body heat, which would require four to four and
one-half hours.
Make this pack sufficiently large to cover the whole abdomen.
Put the grapes on gauze. (5057-1)
Over the abdomen we would apply poultices of crushed
grapes; preferably the Concord variety. Break the hulls and apply
about an inch thick - at
least half an inch thick - on gauze; so that it would cover the
whole of the abdomen. This would be changed about every three or
four hours, and kept
up until there is a great deal of change in the body.
Also we find that small quantities of fresh grape
juice sipped as a part of the diet would be well; not the same grapes as
used for the poultice, of
course, but the same character of grapes. Two or three teaspoonsful
of this juice from the fresh grapes may be taken at this time.
(2367-1)
And we would use the heavy Grape Poultice over
the abdominal and caecum area, especially. Crush the raw fresh grapes
(preferably Concord),
leave in hull, and apply direct to the body, between thin gauze,
about an inch thick. These would be constantly changed as they become
so warm from
the body heat as to be uncomfortable, or about every hour or hour
and a half. Keep these up continuously until the condition is relieved.
Also as the principal diet, for at least a few
days, we would use the Grape Juice and grapes. (1984-1)
The acute conditions arise from old disturbances,
or the inability for the flow of lymph through the colon and jejunum.
To prevent congestion and inflammatory conditions,
apply at least an inch thickness of the Grape Poultice over the abdominal
area. Keep this up
for at least three to four hours, changing as fast as the Poultice
becomes hot, see?
Then give a high enema. (340-41)
To reduce the temperature, as well as the inflammation
through the abdomen and colon specific, we would use Grape Poultices; preferably
Concord Grapes. Crush same and put between gauze, at least
half an inch thick, with a heavier cloth on top, and apply directly to
the abdominal
area. Make the Pack sufficiently large to cover the whole
area of the colon and abdomen, you see. Let it remain until warm
from the body heat, or
as hot as the body, see? then change and put on a fresh Pack.
It should not be necessary, in this particular case, for more than
two such Poultices.
