The
Temple Dancers is a group of individuals dedicated to sharing dances
that are inspirational, healing, and spiritually uplifting. They base
their activities on concepts practiced in the Temple Beautiful. This
was an educational center during an enlightened time when the arts were
used as a means for relating to the Higher
Forces and for the raising of consciousness.
The A.R.E. Temple
Dancers must be registered with the Volunteer Program as they become
members of the group in order to be qualified for “Active Status.”
- All Temple Dancers
contribute an average of 30 hours physical rehearsal time per year
- They also contribute
10-15 hours of performance time.
- Additional time
is contributed by the members of this group through a cooperative
effort in putting together costumes, choreography, and at-home practices,
which qualifies them to receive perks within Level Two of the Volunteer
Incentive Plan.
The group practices
on Sunday afternoons, 4:30pm to 6pm in the Visitor's Center. If you are
interested in joining the group, we invite you to contact one of the group
members,
to inquire if there is space available and discuss a time to attend a
practice meeting. Ellen Selover (x7121 or ellen.selover@edgarcayce.org) |

Prayer
Services |
We here at A.R.E.
consider prayer to be one of our most important activities. It is certainly
not new to us as prayer outreach dates back to the same year of the
Association’s inception: 1931. That year, Edgar Cayce had a dream in
which he saw certain individuals coming together for a special work—to
pray and meditate for the healing of others. Those people later did
join with each other to form the Glad Helpers Prayer Group. The group
received 65 readings from Mr. Cayce on how to accomplish spiritual healing
through prayer and meditation. Although membership in the group has
changed over the years, the Glad Helpers continue to meet on Wednesdays
at the A.R.E. Visitor’s Center in the 3rd floor Meditation Room.
- If you desire
healing for yourself, write to the Prayer Services Coordinator for
an application form, so that your name will be placed on the International
Prayer List.
- Become one of
our dedicated “pray-ers.” Just write and ask for our monthly Prayer
List or pick one up in the Visitor’s Center Lobby. A new list is prepared
each month and is divided into five sections: Morning, Noon, Sunset,
Bedtime, and for those who have Passed On. You may select part or
all of a specific time period and pray daily with us for those individuals
listed in that section.
- Come on Wednesday
mornings to be a part of the Glad Helpers study group or come to receive
healing or make a donation.
