For the year of 2019, Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. will take you on an adventure for your soul as our Enlightenment Series focuses on the topic of Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose.

According to the Edgar Cayce philosophy, each person living on the earth is here for a specific soul purpose; a purpose that no one else can fulfill. While for some people, their purpose might be directly related to a profession or vocation, for others it could simply be a particular way of living day by day. Finding and then understanding and living your soul’s purpose is actually a life-long process. As your knowledge grows and deepens, you will find greater and greater opportunities for fulfilling your life’s mission.

Our Edgar Cayce 2019 Calendar of Enlightened Thoughts was designed to complement this year’s series. The cover depicts a beautiful butterfly to signify self-transformation.

The series is exclusive to A.R.E. members in the Member-Only section of EdgarCayce.org. [Not a member? Join today at EdgarCayce.org/join, or Contact Us for financial assistance].

Each month’s practice will include a video and lesson plan on a different aspect of each topic. We will also offer additional material through our magazine, Venture Inward, and through posts to our blog.

January’s Theme is “Make the World a Better Place”

The purpose in life, then, is that the entity, the SOUL, may make the earth, where the entity finds its consciousness, a better place in which to live.

--Edgar Cayce reading 4047-2

How might you make the world a better place in which to live? Cayce would advise us that we can do our part in our own relationships and communities—touching the immediate world around us, and making it better, is a microcosmic way to bring peace to the whole world. In fact, in this reading, the suggestion is pretty clear:

Ye cannot pray "Peace-Peace" when there is no peace in thine own heart and soul!

-- Edgar Cayce reading 3976-27

To discover clues to your part in this play we call life, ask yourself these questions:

  • What makes my heart sing?
  • When in my life do I feel a sense of wonder?
  • In what ways do I feel called to be of service to others?
  • When do I feel closest to God?

The Cayce readings suggested that we are closest to living our soul’s purpose when we feel joyful, when we are in awe of the wonder of life around us, when we are being of service to others, and when we are deeply aware of our connection to God.
