This is my update for November 2015 to A.R.E. members and friends who are interested in the new and exciting trends occurring within Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. and Atlantic University. A number of exciting things are happening this month! Please share the following with your friends:
Atlantic University’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, James Van Auken, attended the Mindful Leadership Summit in Washington, DC, along with 750 individuals from all industries. While listening to speaker after speaker, James truly saw how impactful the Master of Arts in Leadership Studies program could be on changing the world. Atlantic University’s small, dedicated staff has worked countless hours to create a program on the cutting edge of contemporary leadership.
The Master of Arts in Leadership Studies program includes esteemed faculty, whose professional experience combined with deep and lived experiences creates unique courses. It’s time to create your future: We’re here to help. Inquire today and a trusted advisor will contact you shortly.

Did you know that 46% of all our revenue last year came from contributions? These contributions fund all the programs that you know and love at the A.R.E. They enable us to get the healing, peace, and love contained in the Cayce material out to thousands of seekers throughout the world. All because of you! Please consider making a donation during this season of thanks.

A.R.E. Health Center & Spa is delighted to welcome Carl Nelson, DC, another deeply Cayce-based chiropractic provider. Many of you are familiar with Dr. Nelson’s long and exciting work with the Meridian Institute and with his contributions to that wonderful work, which created an enormous body of information – all tools we constantly use in our provision of Cayce healthcare. We could not be more pleased that he joins us now, in practice here at A.R.E. Health Center. Dr. Nelson will be available for appointments on Wednesday afternoons, as a start, although we will certainly work with our affirmations that he be here more often. Please join us in celebrating his arrival home to A.R.E.
In late 2011, I retired from private law practice to join A.R.E.’s Development team in order to help members wishing to support the Cayce work with “planned gifts” – bequests and other gifts made primarily through members’ estate plans, such as beneficiary designations. I will be retiring from A.R.E. next month, and I want to share some observations with you.
The planned gifts received during this period made an enormous impact on A.R.E.’s ability to sustain, reinvigorate and even expand its programs throughout the world. You might be surprised to know that the planned gifts received in the past four years exceed $2,300,000! Many bequests were from folks who felt unable to make cash donations during their lifetime, but wanted to support A.R.E. when they died. Some were large amounts, but most were more modest. But they all add up. And their impact was HUGE! All of you who simply let us know of your intended gift become Edgar Cayce Legacy Society members and are included in lots of wonderful events. You, too, can join this group of committed supporters. We need only 22 new ECLS members to reach our goal of 365 members by the end of 2015! Will you?
Some members who tried ‘short-cuts’ - didn’t want to pay to see an attorney, prepared online or ‘homemade’ documents - made it more difficult, or even impossible, for A.R.E. to benefit from their good intentions. Please, do it right and visit an estate planning attorney – for the sake of you, your loved ones, and A.R.E. Sound estate planning does not need to be complicated or expensive, but it can be crucial to have some professional guidance to be sure it’s done properly and to know your options, some of which don’t cost a penny.
I CAN STILL HELP YOU NOW. If you have questions and would still like an opportunity to speak with an estate planning attorney (ME) without charge, now is the time to call! But be assured that – even after my retirement - you still have access to wonderful guidance about planned gifts. Patrick Belisle, Development Director, and Marianna Theo, Planned Giving Officer, have many years of experience and they are ready, willing, and able to help you support A.R.E. in a variety of ways. You only need to ask! Contact Pat at 757-457-7126 or firstname.lastname@example.org and Marianna at 757-457-7215 or email@example.com.
