Nonprofit Financial Statements and 990

Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.) is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) corporation funded primarily by the generosity of our members. Through a variety of education, outreach and service programs, the focus of the organization is to create opportunities for profound personal change in body, mind, and spirit through the wisdom found in the Edgar Cayce material.
We strive to use our funds as efficiently as possible, illustrated by the fact that 84.2% of our operating expenses went directly to program services while 7.5% went to support services and 8.2% to fundraising.
In terms of how our members have helped the organization financially, the 2019 results include:
- Approximately 3,000 members donate to us each year
- 500 Golden Circle members donate $1,000 or more each year
- Over 400 people are in our Good Karma Club (donating $20 or more each month)
- Over 350 people have included us in their wills and estate plans, becoming members of the Edgar Cayce Legacy Society
