10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Conscious Community Lecture sponsored by the A.R.E. Bookstore & Gift Shop.
Edgar Cayce explained prayer as, “the concerted effort of the physical consciousness to become attuned to the consciousness of the Creator.” (281-13) If concerted means to act together with another, then prayer is not a solitary practice. When we pray, God is working to connect with us and through us to answer our prayers. The Glad Helpers came from a dream of Cayce’s which in which he was instructed to bring people together to both pray and meditate for others, putting the power of prayer to action for healing those in need.
Prayer is for more than healing. The mystics, including Cayce, recommended Prayer for spiritual growth as a part of our daily life, helping us to make decisions, grow spiritually and obtain assistance for our self or others.
Join Cindy in an exploration of how prayer works for spiritual growth and how it acts as a powerful healing force both through the Cayce teachings and through real life examples. Learn how to understand Cayce’s amazingly beautiful prayers, put them in your own words and put them to work in your own spiritual study or healing practice.
(Experiential Piece: We will break into groups with a Cayce prayer, put the prayer into our own words, pick affirmations for daily use out of the prayer and talk about what the prayer means to us.)
