In 1931 Edgar Cayce gave the first reading on an annual Members Congress. "Each year," it stated, "one a meeting of all members, representatives...wherever they may be located, at Virginia Beach...would renew the faith, confidence, purposes, aims of the work itself..." (254-57)


And 87 years later, the original purposes of Congress remain! Come experience this unique week of fellowship, communication, education, inspiration, celebration, and interaction between worldwide A.R.E. members, staff, volunteers and Board of Trustees. Visit our updated Visitor’s Center and renovated historic campus, meet staff, and learn how the A.R.E. operates. is an internationally renowned speaker, a long-time A.R.E. staff member, a current director at A.R.E, and a popular leader of A.R.E.’s tours to sacred sites around the world. He is the author of numerous bestselling books including Edgar Cayce on the Spiritual Forces Within You, Angels, Fairies, Demons, & the Elementals, and is co-author of his most recent, Edgar Cayce on the Mysterious Essenes: Lessons from Our Sacred Past. His extensive knowledge of the Edgar Cayce readings, the Bible, ancient Egypt mysticism, world religions, and Christ Consciousness make him a popular and authoritative teacher.

is executive director and CEO of Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research & Enlightenment (A.R.E.) and Atlantic University (AU). He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Edgar Cayce organizations. As both student and teacher of the Cayce material for 35 years, he has lectured on five continents in front of thousands of individuals. A prolific writer, he is the author of more than 25 books, including the best-selling Edgar Cayce on the Akashic Records, Edgar Cayce on Auras and Colors (co-author), and his most recent book Contemporary Cayce, an overview of the Cayce material written in easy-to-understand language, which he co-authored with Henry Reed, PhD.


Sidney D. Kirkpatrick is an award-winning filmmaker and international best-selling author. His critically acclaimed non-fiction books include A Cast of Killers, Turning the Tide, and Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet. Biographical profiles of Kirkpatrick have appeared in The New York Times, Time Magazine, and The New Yorker. He is a graduate of Hampshire College and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Sidney lives with his wife, Nancy, and frequently travels for work, engaging audiences in lively discussions about the Cayce material and more.

Long-time friends and champions of the Edgar Cayce work, Sidney and Nancy Kirkpatrick recently joined Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. as the new editors of our member magazine Venture Inward, as well as our Cayce Quarterly member benefits newsletter.


Nancy Kirkpatrick is a writer who has ghost written, edited, and helped publish several books on a variety of topics. In partnership with her husband, Sidney, the Kirkpatricks worked for several years on Edgar Cayce: An American Prophet, described by The New Yorker as "a codex for the New Age" and considered the definitive biography of Edgar Cayce. Most recently, they partnered again on the title, True Tales from the Edgar Cayce Archives.
