LAKEVIEW METHODIST CONFERENCE CENTER
Lakeview Methodist Conference Center has been hosting life-changing retreats in Palestine, Texas, since 1947, and was recently recognized as one of the "Camps that Change the World" by The Huffington Post. The conference and retreat center offers a unique environment, consisting of more than 1,300 acres in Piney Woods of East Texas. Though you'll be just a stone's throw from town, once you've arrived, you'll feel as though you are a thousand miles away. The Lakeview Methodist Conference Center serves as a center for assemblies, retreats, and camps for United Methodist Church groups and those of other denominations. Featuring serene hiking and nature trails, Lakeview has served the A.R.E. Community for its on-going Spring Retreat since 1964. Every year this A.R.E. retreat allows people from all walks of life to gather in an open, nonjudgmental environment to explore spirituality, different world philosophies, and principles contained in the Edgar Cayce readings. Experience a soul-awakening, inspiring retreat with like-minded individuals at our 54th annual A.R.E. spring retreat and expand your mind with popular longtime A.R.E. speaker John Van Auken.
The program schedule allows for flexibility to attend most sessions as well as free time to pursue the many other recreational activities Lakeview offers, including fishing, boating, hiking, and more. Onsite Registration will be located in the Great Hall and begins at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

You can register online, or mail your registration form with payment to Conference Registrar, Edgar Cayce's A.R.E., 215 67th St., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. A registration confirmation email will be sent to you. You will receive a welcome letter a few weeks before the program via e-mail (or by U.S. mail if you do not have an e-mail address). You will receive a program packet at registration check-in. Signup by February 22, 2018, to receive a $40 advanced registration discount!
Tuition payments are separate from lodging. All attendees must pay tuition PLUS choose from one of the following three options:
1) Lodging (includes meals and grounds fees), OR
2) Meals-only (no lodging, includes grounds fees), OR
3) Grounds Fees ($6 per day).

A full refund, less a $35 processing fee per person, is available by Feb. 22. After Feb. 22 there will be a late cancellation fee of $75 per person.

Dormitory-style guests should bring their own bed linens, pillows, and towels. Dormitory rooms are designed with youth in mind: single beds and a shared bathroom with showers. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m., check-out time is after lunch on Sunday. Meals start with dinner on Thursday and end with lunch on Sunday. Meals served for 45 minutes only. Extra meals available at an extra cost. If you wish to exclude meat or fish from your diet, please specify Vegetarian on the registration form. CAMPING OR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES: No spaces are available for 2018.

DONATIONS TO SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A scholarship fund based on donations enables the retreat to offer limited assistance to those needing financial aid. You are invited to donate to this fund and all donations are tax deductible. Scholarship applications must be received by February 2. For information, contact the registrar and obtain a scholarship form.
SILENT AUCTION AND USED BOOK SALE
Donations of crafts, collectibles, novelties, metaphysical books, and similar items are welcomed to support scholarships and retreat expenses. Every year our own group of attendees share their amazing gifts by volunteering to do free workshops. Ideas for workshops include dreams, dowsing, astrology, nutrition, yoga, and more. Leaders/facilitators, please keep in mind that these workshops are uncompensated donated services. WHAT TO BRING
Comfortable, casual clothing for all types of weather. Comfortable walking shoes. A jacket or sweater for cool evenings. Appropriate items for the silent auction. Alarm clock. Flashlight. Notebook or journal. Help save Mother Earth, bring an unbreakable cup to use in the conference room and your gently used books for the book sale. Please bring healthy snacks to share. Bring linens, blankets, pillows, towels, and washcloths for basic dormitory lodging and a camera to take and share pictures. PLEASE BRING YOUR COMPLETED A.R.E. Please do not bring pets, alcohol, drugs, firearms, or fireworks. No food preparation in living quarters (except in a cabin). No Smoking in any of the buildings. TVs and telephones not included. There is NO YOUTH PROGRAM. Youth ages 12–18 may register and attend the adult program with an adult at 50 percent of the program tuition price plus the regular lodging price. Please call A.R.E. Headquarters to register. Youth ages 0–18 are the full responsibility of their parent(s) at all times. There are no provisions for children or babysitting services at this Retreat, therefore, we ask if you bring a child, you make arrangements for someone to care for them outside of the meeting room during presentations. Camp rules that pertain to children must be adhered to.
