Elimination

Elimination is another basic “activity of the system.” When raw materials are assimilated and used by the body’s organs, waste materials are produced which must be eliminated from the body. If these wastes are not effectively removed, the body will be toxic.

There are four major eliminating routes in the body:

  1. the bowel (defecation)
  2. the bladder (urination)
  3. the breath (respiration)
  4. and the skin (perspiration).

Edgar Cayce recommended using all these eliminating processes to cleanse the body.

For example, increased elimination through the colon can be assisted via colonics, enemas, mineral and vegetable laxatives, and diet. Eliminations through the bladder and skin are assisted by drinking adequate amounts of pure water. Moderate, regular exercise supports the body in eliminating through respiration and perspiration. Steam and fume baths are also helpful for cleansing through perspiration. Osteopathic treatment was commonly recommended by Edgar Cayce for increasing and coordinating eliminations.
